“I want to support individuals during one of the most significant moments of their lives.”

About Nana

As a first-generation immigrant, Nana has always been interested in hearing stories of how and why people move to the US. Nana’s family immigrated to the US when she was nine years old. She chose to pursue immigration law as a way to support other foreign nationals during their immigration journey, so they didn’t have to worry about their employment visa status while establishing themselves in a new country. Nana has been working in immigration law since 2012, first as a Paralegal with Zulkie Partners and now as an Associate Attorney.

Nana enjoys working on Adjustment of Status (green card) applications as she gets to see the full picture of a foreign national’s life as well as support them through the final stage of the permanent residency process. Her most memorable moment as an immigration lawyer was having her first EB-1C I-140 petition for an international functional manager approved. There was a lot of communication with the client regarding what evidence would be necessary, and the petition Nana and her team filed was approved within 3 months.

During law school, Nana served as a federal judicial extern for Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman at the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and also worked as a 711-licensed student clinician with the Civitas ChildLaw Clinic. Nana is currently a volunteer and Associate Board Member of City Year Chicago, a non-profit organization that focuses on educational equality by placing AmeriCorps members in underresourced schools to support the development, growth, and success of students.
